Thirty-one years ago, the United Nations established a worldwide celebration known as the International Day of Peace or Peace Day. In 2001, a unanimous vote deemed September 21st to be the annual day of non-violence and cease-fire. Whether you work for the government, the military, a clothing boutique, or are in the fifth grade, the UN invites you to engage in a hostility-free, open-arm, open-heart day.
Today is the perfect excuse to hit the yoga mat, to help your co-worker, to forgive your ex, and to simply slow down. In honor of this international celebration, and to further inspire its observance, we at TTC have chosen a selection of fantastic photographs from around the world that embody unity, tranquility, and peace.
