Story

In a world of texts and e-mails, I love to send and to receive handwritten notes. And when I saw these delightful greeting cards from Africa, I was inspired by the story behind them. Each is handcrafted by young people in Rwanda who have been orphaned by genocide or AIDS and who are now heads of households. Making the cards provides them with above-market wages and allows them to feed their families and provide schooling for their younger siblings. Giving and receiving—what could be better than that?
