TRAVELER'S COLLECTION

Intricately woven by hand using delicate copper wire and decorated with beads, these one-of-a-kind bracelets are created by women living in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. The project teaches the artisans marketable skills and helps them physically, emotionally, spiritually and financially.

Bridge for Africa harnesses the outstanding artistic talent of African artisans to create marketable products for sale in the U.S., thus promoting the dignity of work and self-sufficiency in Africa. A member of the Fair Trade Federation, the group has established long-term relationships with rural African crafting groups to create true partnerships and focuses on marketing, distribution, education and product development. At least 50% of the product price is paid to the artisan groups and the remainder of the proceeds is reinvested in community development, job creation and training initiatives.
